Om
Caroline is a Stockholm-based singer, composer and producer working in kulning, a tradition historically carried by women in the highlands, and jojk, the vocal tradition of the Sámi. Through her practice Nordic Ceremonies she brings that voice into inaugurations, endings and everything in between, work that has reached Swedish national television. She also performs as Caroline and the Invisible Orchestra, across jazz, Swedish folk and electronic music.
What happens in the room is physical. Kulning was built to carry across kilometres with no amplification. Turned inward, that same force settles a room within seconds: attention gathers, the usual social scanning quiets, and the room arrives together before anyone has processed a single word.
“Ceremony is so much about simply revealing the magic that is already present in the room.”
Her work takes two shapes. On a stage, an opening or closing in kulning and jojk gives a gathering a real beginning and a real ending, sometimes with a short call the whole room learns and sings back. Around a fire, it becomes smaller and slower: a circle of singing and storytelling that grows trust, one voice and one story at a time.
Every ceremony is made for its moment, in close dialogue with the people hosting it. Caroline starts with three questions: What do you want? What does your company want? What is your core purpose?
“Someone is good at listening. Someone is good at seeing the whole. Someone is good at bringing things together.”
She also takes groups out into nature: around the fire, with storytelling, singing, food cooked together, gentle movement, swimming and sauna, where people open up in a way they don't in an office or a conference room.

Elden.

A Voice Whose Ripples Move Through Rooms and Generations
Kulning: Settling a Room in Seconds
A voice tradition built to carry unamplified across kilometres, turned inward: how it gathers a room's attention within seconds, and why it works in the body.
A Real Beginning and a Real End
Opening and closing a gathering in kulning and jojk, sometimes with a short call the whole room learns and sings back, so it has a beginning and an ending people actually feel.
Fire Circle: Building Trust One Voice at a Time
The retreat-side version of the same work - an intimate circle of singing and storytelling built to grow trust inside a group.
For a summit, a festival or a conference
One red thread, from the first question to the last note
Caroline holds the whole container and the red thread that runs through it: the opening, the closing and everything between, shaped by what the gathering is really for. Tap any moment to see what happens there.

The room dims and the sound shifts. Caroline begins at the back of the room in kulning, the traditional Swedish herding call, and moves through the crowd toward the stage, introducing the event in voice and word as she goes. The music builds with the band into an original song: from bare voice to a full crescendo, giving the event a real beginning.

Something smaller and slower, built for a retreat's own pace rather than a conference agenda - kulning and jojk carried outdoors, close to the ground it comes from, rather than staged. Through her practice Nordic Ceremonies, Caroline shapes it around whatever threshold the group is actually there to mark.
