Nature does part of the host work. A forest walk, a fire, a shared meal and time to sit together, away from screens and meeting rooms.
Away from screens and meeting rooms, the mind slows down and the day gets simpler.
Walking side by side, sharing a meal and sitting by a fire makes it easy to talk.
Simple practices for breath and attention that still work on Monday morning.
In 1665 the plague closed Cambridge, and Isaac Newton went home to the countryside at Woolsthorpe. The year that followed is still called his miraculous year. Years later he told a friend that watching an apple fall in the orchard set him thinking. The version where the apple hits his head came later. What is documented is simpler, and more useful: a mind with space, in a quiet place, noticed something ordinary.
Research points the same way. In Stanford experiments published in 2014, people came up with more creative ideas while walking, and for a short while after sitting down again. Studies of attention suggest that time in nature rests the focused, goal-driven part of the mind. That work is still debated, and a walk is no guarantee of a breakthrough. But the conditions are real: movement, new surroundings and no screen.
Psychologists call the state where work feels absorbed and effortless flow. It tends to need long stretches without interruption. A day in the forest has no inbox, no meetings and no notifications.
This is a day built for that: no lab, a long walk, and time to talk with researchers from other fields. If a new idea, a connection or some clarity turns up, good. If not, you will have had a day outside with people like you.

21 Dimensions is being built in the open. Most of it works - a few edges are still rough. Found one? We'd genuinely like to know.
