Human 3.0

By Esia Nathaniel, founder of 21 Dimensions

Human 3.0 is the 21 Dimensions name for the next stage of human development: people fluent in the outer technologies of their time, including AI, and equally developed in the inner technologies that make those tools wise to use: awareness, regulation, meaning-making and connection.

Three chapters of being human

A simple model, offered as orientation: Human 1.0 lived embedded in nature, community and ceremony, rich in inner and collective knowledge, with little control over the outer world.

Human 2.0 is the industrial and information-age human: five centuries of extraordinary outer progress, paid for with growing distance from the body, from nature and from the inner landscape.

Human 3.0 integrates the two. It keeps the reach of 2.0, recovers the depth of 1.0, and grows both further.

Why now

Intelligent systems now do much of what Human 2.0 was trained for: processing information, optimizing and executing.

What remains distinctly human are capacities like judgment, presence, discernment, empathy and the ability to make meaning under uncertainty. Those capacities are trainable, and they define Human 3.0.

Becoming Human 3.0

Human 3.0 is grown through practice across the whole map: regulating the nervous system through Body and Breath, relating through Heart and Communication, making meaning through Philosophy and Ceremony, and integrating what opens up so it lasts.

In the language of the Inner Development Goals, it is being, thinking, relating, collaborating and acting, developed together and brought into how we lead, build and live.
