Somatic Coaching & Embodied Leadership

Body

The living vessel through which life expresses itself

The living vessel through which life expresses itself - a dynamic system of strength, sensation, and intelligence. The body grounds us in the present, translating energy into movement and experience. It is both temple and teacher, carrying memory, resilience, and the potential for transformation.

Develops somatic intelligence - the capacity to read the body's signals, posture, and nervous system state. The body is not a container for the mind; it is a primary instrument of presence and leadership.

Science Foundations & Lineages

Grounded in Somatic Psychology, Polyvagal Theory (Porges), Embodied Cognition (Varela, Maturana) and Trauma-Informed Neuroscience. Connects to indigenous body-wisdom traditions and contemplative somatic lineages.

Questions about Body

What is somatic coaching?

Somatic coaching is coaching that works through the body as well as the mind: noticing posture, breath, tension and nervous-system state, and using them to change how a person responds under pressure. It draws on somatic psychology, polyvagal theory and embodied cognition.

How is somatic coaching different from executive coaching?

Executive coaching usually works through conversation, goals and behavior. Somatic coaching adds the body as a direct instrument, working with the physical patterns (a held breath, a braced posture) that show up before a reaction does, so change reaches the level where habits actually run.

What is TRE (Tension and Trauma Release Exercises)?

TRE is a set of simple exercises that activate the body's natural tremoring response to release muscular tension held from stress. It is practiced individually or in groups, ideally learned from a trained facilitator first, and complements rather than replaces therapy for trauma.
