Nonviolent Communication at Work
Communication
The flow of meaning between people
The flow of meaning between people - shaping understanding, trust, and shared reality. More than words, communication is energy in motion, expressed through voice, gesture, and presence. The bridge that unites perspectives, resolves tensions, and creates the possibility of genuine connection.
Goes far beyond information transfer - the practice of creating shared understanding, holding space for difference, and co-creating meaning together. The nervous system of any team or organisation.

Questions about Communication
What is Nonviolent Communication (NVC)?
Nonviolent Communication, developed by Marshall Rosenberg, is a four-step practice: state the observation, name the feeling, identify the underlying need, and make a clear request. It separates what happened from the meaning we added to it, which defuses most conflicts.
How do you build psychological safety in a team?
Psychological safety grows when people see that speaking up is met with curiosity: leaders who ask questions, admit uncertainty, respond well to bad news and make disagreement normal. Dialogue practices such as NVC, appreciative inquiry and structured check-ins make that behavior a habit.
What is Theory U?
Theory U, developed by Otto Scharmer, is a method for groups to move from habitual reactions to deeper listening and shared sensing, so new ideas can emerge. It is used for strategy work, innovation and collective change, often through presencing circles.
